Beginning Guitar Lessons
Join local educator and string music enthusiast Dane Broome for a beginner's level guitar playing workshop. In this course you will learn a variety of skills such as how to tune your guitar, how to form basic chord structures, strumming patterns for different time signatures, and how to read basic notes and guitar tablature. See below for guitar and book recommendations.

Requirements for this course include: Acoustic guitar - Steel string Western guitar is preferred, but a nylon string classical guitar will also be okay. Guitar tuner - Snark "vibrational" tuners are preferred, but standard tuners will also be okay. Guitar pick - medium thickness.

*For young beginners - size matters. Small children might need a smaller guitar! 2/4 - 3/4 size parlor style guitar may be most suitable for very young, small children who are beginning guitar. Please contact instructor if you have questions about what size guitar may be best for you!
